We are a fourth-generation, family owned plumbing company. Being too young for World War I and too old for World War II, our founder John W. Kaiser started his one-man plumbing shop on Arizona Avenue in the 1940’s.

John had four daughters. The second eldest, Catherine, met and married Michael Saffer. A D-Day Navy Veteran, Michael came back from the war eager to start a family and get busy on a plumbing career.

John and Michael worked together until 1968 when Michael took over and renamed the business “Saffer Plumbing & Heating.”

Michael’s oldest son, David joined the business in 1984 and began to grow and over the next 20 years, developed the business into a respected, professional outfit.

In the 2000s, David’s son, Chris joined the business and the family continued the growth of the business, earning multiple Best of Baltimore awards and expanding into Electrical service, water treatment and home automation.

As a new decade dawns, Saffer Plumbing stands proud as the premier Plumbing Company in Baltimore, delighting new generations of customers and assembling and training the finest team of professionals in town.

Our technicians will talk to you, review your plumbing needs and provide you with options based on what you specific needs are. These prices are given before any work starts so there is never any surprises. 

Saffer’s Superior Warranty

When we engage our technical expertise on your job, you have the right to expect that it will be done correctly the first time and that the workmanship will last indefinitely. As a result, instead of the industry standard 1 year warranty on materials, we warranty ours for 2 full years. In addition, we warranty our workmanship for 5 years! Sometimes this overlaps with a manufacturer warranty which we will assist in claiming.

On-going Education

At Saffer Plumbing & Electric, we believe strongly in the importance of constant training. Safety standards and code change every few years, as does technology. It is our job to ensure that our technicians stay up to date on those changes to provide the safest and modern solutions to all of our customers. We have built our own training facility that also doubles as our classroom and we provide weekly training to our technicians to ensure they are providing the best service possible.

Saffer’s Protection Plan

We believe so much in the safety of our customers, we created our Protection Plan to ensure we could provide the best service possible. Emergencies are bound to happen, and when they do, they can be devastating to our homes and our treasures. Our protection plan comes with a visual inspection of the home’s plumbing & electrical system to try to reduce the chances of those emergencies from happening by identifying issues before they become a problem. Along with that inspection comes a credit of $200 for your account to set aside in case one of those unexpected situations comes up. Some plumbing can be expensive but we will have already put that money aside to relieve part of that burden. In addition to that, all our Protection Plan members are awarded a 10% reduction in price on all of our services, and receive priority service when spots open up in our schedule.
